Liah Thomas is a man allowed to swim on the University of Pennsylvania Womens Swim team because NCAA rules permit athletes to do so after completing one year of hormone treatment. Thomas is in his second year of taking replacement hormones so he qualifies under existing rules governing college athletes.

Before this year, Thomas swam for Penn's Mens Swim team and he was basically a nothing-burger. So, forgive me for being the cynic that I am but a nobody found a way to pave his future with gold by going from forgettable to female.

His name and swimming prowess have been all over the news for months because the biological women on his team are rightfully angry at their competitive disadvantage. I feel bad for them but that's life in America, now.

Woke culture says such things as men pretending to be women should be accepted -- no, embraced -- in the name of tolerance and inclusivity. Forget fairness and common sense. If a dude wants to become competitive as a woman, all he has to do is take some hormones for one year and he can become a star. Ta da!

The elitist, left-wing parents, whose kids dominate Ivy League colleges like Penn, must be in a bind. Do they support their daughters? Or, their politics? We will see what matters more to them.

Because, let's face it: you can change your name and you can take all the hormones you want but you can't undo biological advantages based on gender. Around 20 years of muscle mass, enhanced lung and heart capacity and size differences don't disappear from injecting estrogen for a year.

Studies have show that transgender athletes born male but competing as women do lose some muscular and endurance benefits after two years of hormone replacement treatment but not all of it. No wonder Thomas has been crushing Womens Swim records and threatening long-held Olympic records of women swimmers.

But, he's right where he belongs. A society that encourages kids to question their biology and demand the rest of the world conform to their desires to be referred to as something they are not is what brought us to this place.

So, one kid gets over on the system. You may wonder "What's the big deal?" The big deal is the path has been charted and now Thomas is close to becoming a loser again as other swimmers learn to game the system through "transitioning".

Talk about chickens coming home to roost! Thomas was recently beat by a female swimmer from Yale's Womens Swim team. Female swimmer Iszac Henig is "transitioning" to male so presumably the testosterone hormone treatments are boosting her swim times. She crushed Thomas in two events they competed in at a recent meet.

So, will women "transitioning" to "modified males" become the new normal in collegiate female swimming? It appears to be an answer for the "transitioning" male swimmers who have been beating female swimmers like a drum.

Or, will the NCAA wake up, reverse their crazy, woke rules and require athletes to compete on teams based on their biological sex?

Hopefully, enough parents pressure the colleges and NCAA rules committees to restore sanity to sports. Sports is one of the last true meritocracies left in America but that is endangered by allowing biologically buff-ed males to "transition" and compete against women.

Either end the madness or accept that your daughters and sisters will likely never know the sweet taste of victory in college sports where men are allowed to decide they are really women and that's whom they will play with.

Is there really a difference between performance-enhancing drugs, like steroid or HGH, and performance-enhancing steroidal treatments?
